Course Description as it currently appears in the system course database: Provides students with hands-on and theoretical knowledge of network and computer systems intrusion concepts, including security terminology, virus operations, operating system and Web browser vulnerabilities, firewall operation standards, and computer fraud. Prerequisite: CIS 414

		CIS 418: Advanced Computer Forensics This course introduces students to modern computer forensic analysis tools and how to use these applications for common forensic procedures. Students will explore the power of these tools as they relate to contemporary file systems. A specific tool and file system may be chosen for special emphasis such as EnCase and NTFS. Prerequisite: CIS 388

This course will build on CIS 388 Computer Security Fundamentals. The Security major is shifting topics to more accurately

reflect the broad focus on computer security, network security, software security, and forensics. The 414, 416, 418, and

422 courses are being updated to more accurately reflect this structure.
