Internet security is the focus of this course. Students will learn the security risks inherent to the interconnection of physical networks and the corresponding countermeasures. Advanced topics include fundamentals of encryption, firewall operation, common tactics, countermeasures, popular Web server vulnerabilities, and data interception over public mediums.

 

     To:

This course will cover both the theoretical and practical aspects of network security.  Students will develop hands-on experience in dealing with classical and contemporary network attacks in addition to with the design and use of penetration testing and security audit tools.
